Post Natal Blue and Experienced Nanny Needed!

What do you know about Post Natal Blue? Nothing? Me either (well at first). But after having my own child, I know what it's like. Well for my 1st pregnancy I do get PNB. It's all started when some of the relatives keep repeating that my 1st born looks more like dad and none from me. It may sounds like "wth Zyan?!" But really, if you hearing it repeatedly, you will get annoyed and stressed. My fellow mummy, you feel me? Hahaha... Also after 2 mths of giving birth, I got warded for 2 weeks due to kidney infection and cardiomyopathy. How sad my life can be during that time.

As for my 2nd one, I already stay in my own house. So it's just me, my husband and my 2 child. My husband will be working during the day. You know, normal office hour. But tell you, with me all alone, LAGI in confinement period, with 1 active toddler and a super high demand infant in house, I can go GILA! And hey, even on confinement, I still have to cook and clean and do the laundry ok. But of course my husband will help here and there sometimes (thank you sayang (n_n*)) Have I ever trigger or breakdown when I'm alone withe kids? HELL YES! Whenever I start to breakdown in a corner of either my kitchen or room, my son will be like "Ummi don't cry." How can I not smile after that?

Eventho with this kinda situation of mine, consider myself still lucky, cos at times, my mum do call and ask about me and family. And sometimes, she even dropby my place and cook for me. Or lagi best, my siblings will come by and bring my son out/ sleepover at my mum place. So, it's just me and my baby girl. Thank you guys, you're the BEST! Hehe.

Oh gosh, talking about my baby girl, I'm left with 85 days till this maternity leave of mine be over! I SOOOOOOO NEED TO LOOK FOR GOOD AND TRUSTED NANNY!!!! Any lobang mummy? I prefer the one staying  nearby to my place (Segar/ Fajar/ Jelapang), muslim family, experienced with toddler/ infant and knowledge of teaching (this one plus point! But if none it's ok). Do drop me msg/ comment if you know any ok..? Thank you in advance ;)

Panic!!

My left hand holding his right hand while my right hand holding his milk.. While I holding his hand n his bottle, my right leg pulling up a pillow.. YES! Multitask.. Without realizing, my son throw his body down on the bed (his bad habit) and I tot he's going to fall so I pull up his hand.. He began to cry out loud and my hubby starts to ask me what happen.. I get lagi panic! I hold his right hand n he cry frantically.. My eyes are in tears and I panic like f***.. My hubby carry him n try to raise his hand, still he cry.. I carry him also he cry.. My mind starts to have wild tots.. Thinking maybe I fractured his arm or maybe dislocate! SELISIH (touch wood)!!! So my hubby bring him out of the room and gave him some ribenna.. He stop crying.. I try to raise his right hand again n he gave me that sad face and starts to cry.. Alamak, I became more panic.. My hubby starts to check if there's any swell or something, but no thre isn't..

So I carry him again and check all his joint (back in Red Cross days, I learn how to check this kinda stuff) and thanks god everything's ok.. I bring him to a ceiling fan.. And see if he's gonna raise his arm to play with the hanging strings.. And thanks god he did and he starts smiling ajd laughing again.. I tried one giving him his bottle n let him hold on his right hand, he did hold and smiling again at me.. Oh boy, you really really makes me scared to death..

I'm Pregnant?

I'm sure you guys gonna congratulate me. But please, keep your wishes. Cos I'm Pregnant NOT! Heheheh....

I bought the pregnancy kit this morning as I've missed my period. Eventho' I know I'm not pregnant, just to be safe, I got one kit in hand. Hehehe. After taken the test, I put it aside and leave it for few hours and only to know it's negative during lunch time. I sms my hubby and tryna trick him, he's reply as below; hehehe... :P

Let me zoom the attached photo....

The reason why I did this check because I missed my period for a month plus now. And YES! It's normal for me to miss my period! I started to miss my period since secondary 3 (due to depression and stress). And the longest was 5 months (due to N level)! My mum did send me to the doctor for a check but the doctor inform us that it is normal for us to miss our period as long as it does not exceed more than 6 months. So to me, missing my period for a month or 2 is too normal. But I realized that after having my 1st baby, my period cycle really change. It can be either more than a week, 4 days atleast, too heavy flow or too light flow. Oh well, it's all about the changes of hormones.

Anyway ladies, don't get too panic if you started to miss your period. Cos approximately one third of all women have irregular periods at some time in their reproductive lives. This means you may sometimes miss/ late for your period altogether. Some other reasons could be as below;

Weight Changes – Low body weight or excessively losing weight or losing weight quickly can cause you to miss your period. Obesity can also cause changes in your menstrual cycle.

Stress – High stress levels can interfere with ovulation and therefore interfere with your regular menstrual cycle. If ovulation is delayed, your period may be late. If you don’t ovulate at all, you may miss your period.

Contraceptives Pill – Hormonal contraceptives can cause missed or irregular periods. Some contraceptives, such as Seasonique or Yaz (not sure if it's true)) stop your period for several months or up to a year and others may change your flow so it seems as if you have missed your period.

Exercise – Strenuous and rigorous exercise can interfere with menstrual cycles. This may be caused by the stress on your body or low body fat.

Medications – Some medications will interfere with your menstrual cycle. If you are taking medication,  check with your pharmacist to find out if missed periods can be a side effect.

Thyroid disease – Hypothyroidism, an under active thyroid, can change how your body produces certain hormones which can cause you to miss a period or to stop altogether.

Breastfeeding – Hormones that produce lactation can sometimes interfere with your menstrual cycle or block ovulation which will cause you to stop menstruating.

Eating disorders – Just as when you suddenly lose weight or are underweight, eating disorders can interfere with your hormones, causing irregular or missed periods.

Shift Changes – If you suddenly switch from day shift to night, or vice versa, or have a job which requires you to continually switch shifts, you may notice a change in your menstrual cycle.

Oh well, it is not unusual for us women to miss a period, so, if this happens, try to relax. In most cases, your cycle will return to normal the next month. But if you're worried, do consult doctor for further check. So ladies, take care and be happy :)

  • issed period or the absence of menstruation. Primary amenorrhea is when you are over the age of 15 and have not yet begun menstruation. Secondary amenorrhea is when you have been menstruating and suddenly stop.
Irregular periods While many women follow a 28 day schedule, approximately one third of all women have irregular periods at some time in their reproductive lives. This means you may sometimes miss your period altogether or be late. Hormonal fluctuations are one reason for this, especially in young girls within the first few years of menstruating.

Because you asked me

Assalamualaikum and Hello everyone.
So I finally have spare time to blog today. And it's about what's my son's been drinking, feeding, snacking and blablabla.. Hehehehe..

Milk Formula: Abbott Similac Stage 2

I've stop breastfeeding completely when my son's turns 3 months old. It's not by choice but I was forced to stop due to my sickness (at the moment). Furethermore, I didn't have much milk in me, no matter how much I pump or massage.. By the time I want to take supplements (to have more milk), I have to stop.. It's really depressing for a new mum like me not to be able to give my son breastmilk fully.. I really feel like i'm a bad mum.. I cry and yes cry out loud when the doctor told me that I have to fully stop giving breastmilk.. Only my hubby and family knows how depressing I am at the point..

Eventho I did give my son formula milk at few weeks old, still, I did breastmilk him too.. Percentage of milk given are my breastmilk.. So when the doctor say NO MORE breastmilk, oh how my heart drop! :( But oh well, look at the bright side, alhamdulilah, with this PERFECT formula milk given to my precious son, he grown up to a VERY smart and healthy baby.. :D

Cereals: Nestle Cerelac Wheat and Honey

To tell you the truth, I started giving my son cerelac as early as 2 weeks old.. I add 1 teaspoon of cerelac to my breastmilk (warm it up).. When people found out that I'm giving my son cerelac at a very young age, they are totally surprised and of course I got "scolded" for it.. But hey, I just dowan my son to get hungry.. And up till now, he is still taking the same flavor.. I did try giving him other flavor, but he don't seems to like it.. It's either he don't like it or he don't pooped! :P

Baby Food/ Puree: Rafferty's Garden (any flavor except for Berry's)

Usually I cook for my son's his baby food/ puree.. But as a working mum, I really don't have time to do all that most of the time.. I did try giving him the Heinz or any other brand, but he don't seems to really enjoy it.. Thanks to my sis for recommending this baby food.. My son LOVE it really much.. He eats all kinda flavor except for the berry's (but he loves eating strawberry, weird?).. Since my son already turning 8 months plus, I'm thinking of  trying to get him the mash range or the smoothie.. Best of all, it's HALAL and NO other ingredients added in!!! As stated on the company logo, they are 100% HONEST.. Heheh.. Oh, I usually got this from NTUC Fairprice.. I did try searching at Cold Storage or Giant, but they don't seems to bring in this brand..

Teething Snacks: Baby Bites (wan wan brand)

I guess all of you know this brand.. This baby bites been bring in by a company called Wan Wan.. You know this snacks that all asian kids love to eat..
Baby Juice: Heinz Apple/ Pear Juice and Dried Winter Melon

Particularly, he loves apple/ pear.. So me and my husband have always got him this juice from Heinz and also dried winter melon from any chinese traditional store or of course the supermarket.. Giving the dried winter melon to drink is really good for baby who have jaundice and high fever.. :)

So mummy and daddy, good luck in trying all the snacks/ food that I've listed here and hope that your baby are loving it too..  :D

That Self Confidence!

After giving birth, there's alot of changes in me; specially my hormone. Instead of having my period once a month, I had twice a month. Good? No good? Well apparently my doctor say it's normal for a new mum to have this kinda situation. And again, since I'm on cesarean, my period will either be longer or shorter. The longest I had was 9 days. And during my period, I ALWAYS had a big cramp and nerve pain on my cesarean area. I do get panicked at first. But after getting myself assured by the doctor, it's actually normal. So I need no worries bout it. :)
During my last visits with my gynae doctor, I did asked for contraceptive pills. But, the doctor don't really advice me to it. It's all due to cardiomyopathy. Well, after my confinement end, I was diagnosed with it. What a luck! But alhamdulilah, I'm much better now. Just that I need to take my medication daily and I may need to go for another blood test and echo scan on the 17 September. So, all my gynae could say to me is, "wear condom!!". To tell the truth, I don't really fancy that "rubber ducky". No excitement lah. Hahaha.
Another part of changes that I'm facing now is my body shape. Most people around me says that my body remain the same like how I used to look before. But with my own eyes to witness, I really don't see it. I dunno where's my self confidence went to, really! My weight may have went down, but the shape, I don't really see any changes. How I missed doing core exercise and kick boxing. It feel so awkward for not doing all this for so long. And everytime I see my husband carry those barbells and doing his regular core exercise, I feel a little jealous. Well, the only weight lifting I do now is carrying my baby. Hehehe. Does that count too? Hahaha.
Oh well, I really look forward for September to end. Cos I can't wait for my medical test to be over and hopefully and praying hard that the results would be positive. I can't stand nor swallowed those medication daily anymore. Sick and tired of it. Best of luck to me! (n_n*)

My Labour Journey - Part 2

7.05am, 25 March 2013, Monday.

The doc came in at 7am to give a check on me. To my upset-ting, I am still 2cm open. Sakit since the other day but tk besar2 open and my waterbag still not burst. So the doc decide to burst it 'manually'. Bout 7.40am, I was already in the labor ward. The doc burst my waterbag and also induced me with medication for fast delivery. I can't remember wat it is called lah. Oh yes, I am still give the antibiotic too. Every 4hrs mah. So, the doc asked wthr I wanna take epidural or not. So I say NO. Cos seriously, I really dowanna anymore jabs in me. So I took the laughing gas instead. Before they gave me the laughing gas, they asked wthr I took any meal or drink early in the morning. well.... I curi2 makan 1 piece of biscuit. Hehehe. I'm not supposed to eat anything before going to the labor. Which I dunnoe why lah. But the doctor didn't nag when he found out I had a biscuit.

12.35pm, 25 March 2013, Monday

Doc came in and check. I'm only bout 3 or 4cm. The pain would be bout 6 or 7 out of 10. So the doc kinda worried and he double up my dosage. Ape taknya, it took sooooo long for the opening to open. After they double the dosage of all medication, the pain starts to double up. And this time no more 6 or 7 but its 8 or 9 out of 10. I keep wanna go to the toilet to pee. Sampai nurse fed up ngan aku and say, " no cannot.. We already give u the medication so we afraid the baby might come out" And you know what the nurse give me? PEE TRAY! SUMPAH tak selesa..... But what else shall I do? No choice but to pee in it. And when the tray are place under my bum, no urine. IRRITATING tau.

2.45pm, 25 March 2013, Monday

I started to feel more weak and pain. The nurse even gave me the exercise ball to sit on. As soon as I stood on my feet, I vomit. ALOT! Even my husband got panic. But the doctor says it's all normal when a patients use the laughing gas.

5.15pm, 25 March 2013, Monday

The FINAL check from the doctor and I really hope I've already open up wider. But it's NOT. The doctor gave me a bad news. My opening started to get smaller due to my baby. Instead of him going downwards to popped out, he goes up again and go to my left side tummy. Cekik darahnye anak. Ape tak, dapat makan sedap2 when in my tummy. I guess he already get TOO COMFY inside lah. Even the doctor and nurses say that too. So, I have no other choice but to go for Emergency Cesarean. And also, my baby heart rate already starts to jump up and down. So the doctor might afraid that we may loose him. I was given 2 choice for the operation. 1st choice to stay awake or to be asleep. I decided to go  to sleep BUT the doctor won't let me to, as in may weaken the baby more. Then why give me choices when I have no choice right? Haiyoh.. I was awake throughout the operation and my hubby able to see all the procedure. I wanted to see but the doctor say I'm crazy! LOL! Well, I'm not allowed to lah kan. Before the operations are proceed, I was given epidural. So tell me lah, LAUGHING GAS + EPIDURAL = FUCKING DAMN HIGH LOR! I sing, I laugh n etc throughout the operations. Even the nurses can layan my merepekness.. HAHAH..

8.15pm, 25 March 2013, Monday

Alhamdulilah the procedure went well. And everyone's (doctor, nurses, me and hubby) tot that our baby gonnabe a huge. Skali tak lah. Heheh. Well, the operation only started around 6.50-ish pm. So tak ke lama aku dlm operation theatre. Hehe. After it's done, I was sent to observation room for bout an hour. Half of my body can't move. And I don't feel a single things. Even when the nurse pinch my feet, I don't feel anything lah kan.

Well guys, my labour journey went well. Alhamdulilah. Everything turns out smoothly and my baby already 3 months 11 days now. But, the doctor advice me that I have to wait another 2 or 3 years for another baby. And I may need to get the contraceptive pills sooner or later. ;)

My Labour Journey - Part 1

14072012, 0745hrs. The day I found out I'm pregnant.

8.30pm, 23 March 2013 Saturday.

I started to have cramps. U know menstrual cramps. But I didn't give it a complain cos I tot it is normal to have this kinda pain during pregnancy. Specially when u are heavily pregnant. Furthermore, from what I've learn, contraction pain will be a continuous pain. But this pain that I'm having, it comes every 10 - 20min. I didn't have backache nor any bleeding or even a single sign of labour. So, all I did is lay down on my bed and try to relax myself.

Time keep passing by and yes, the menstrual cramps is still ongoing. I didn't inform my hubby or any of my family members. All I did is just istighfar and relax. I really have difficulty in sleeping that night. I will be asleep for an hour plus or maybe half an hour, then awake n then sleep again n keep continue. At 3 plus in the morning (my usual pee time, hehe), the cramps is still there and I really had a lil difficulty to stand. But I just force myself to stand on my feet and move to the toilet on my own. After all the business done, I'm off to bed again with the cramps.

6.27am, 24 March 2013, Sunday.

14112012, 1415hrs we finally know our baby gender and it's a BOY!
Since I didn't have a good sleep due to the cramps, I wake up at this timing for another pee. Yes, I still have the difficulty to stand of my feet but still stubborn enough to be independent and not disturbing my hubby who is soundly asleep. So, I took of my pants then my undies and I'M BLEEDING! I continue with my pee tho' (cos cannot tahan one!) and I saw a big lump of blood clot. The exact kinda blood when you're heavily on your period. I get panic lah kan. I woke my hubby up and the most annoying respond I get from him is, "abih nak me buat ape?". Sumpah I just feel like slapping his face but of course lah I didn't do it. I knock on my parents room and inform my mum bout it and she asked me to rush to the hospital. At this point, my cramps starts to makes me go WTF!!!! Ala, the menstrual kinda cramp yang rabak GILER. My hubby got up from  bed and ask me what to do. Due to my cramps n my panic, aku tak larat nak mengamuk. So I told him we need to go to the hospital NOW. And when I say now, my hubby can mandi lagi lah eh. Adoi...

After all the drama from my hubby, we reach the hospital bout 7.30pm or earlier. We go straight to labor ward and yes, I walk to the labor ward with the cramps i'm having. Reach to the ward, the nurse asked certain questions like what time it bleeds, rate 1 to 10 how's the pain like and  blablabbla. Then the nurse gave me the hospital clothes and start to jab me with antibiotic. Well, I was diagnosed with a common bacteria infection for pregnancy mum. N I've to be given the jab every 4 hour.

12.15pm, 24 March 2013, Sunday.

Time strike 12+pm and the pain still around. Rate 1 to 10, I give it a 6 or maybe 7 lah. Eventho the pain is still pain, my opening is still 2cm open n my waterbag is still not burst! Then the doctor and the nurse send me to the ward instead. They dowanna give me an extra charge for the labor ward. Takut mahal dah. So, like I say, I was given antibiotic jab every 4 hr and of course lah the nurse need to keep an eye on me. Tunggu punya tunggu till the next day.

To be continued.....
